Our Mission

Our Mission is to bring hope to Lakeland by restoring relationships, renewing minds, reviving hearts, and reaching souls for Christ! Founded in 1926, Webster Memorial Baptist Church is a fellowship of believers who are committed to spreading the glory of God in West Lakeland and to the ends of the earth.

What are some of our values as a church?

God-exalting. Every aspect of our church is aimed at glorifying God. From the music we sing, the sermons we preach, and the service that we give, we are seeking God's glory alone.

Expository preaching. Pastor Gavin preaches expository sermons verse by verse through complete books of the Bible. This allows us to have the full context of the Biblical intention and allows God's Word to dictate our beliefs rather than allowing man's agenda to dictate the meaning of God's Word.

Family integration. We believe that children learn best from worshiping together with their families. We don't mind wiggles and giggles in the worship service. In fact, we encourage it! As we like to say, if you don't hear babies crying then your church might be dying!

Historic Roots. We acknowledge that we have a rich tradition of theological grandparents that have helped shaped our church. We not only subscribe to the historic Baptist documents of the faith, but also the historic Reformation understanding of the Five Solas: Sola Fide (Faith Alone), Sola Gratia (Grace Alone), Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone), Solus Christus (Christ Alone), and Soli Deo Gloria (To the Glory of God Alone)!

Loving the least of these. In Matthew 25 Jesus says, "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." We take our Savior's words to heart and seek to be a blessing to those in our community. We trust that God has put people in our lives so that we can bless them with love and the gospel.
